Our car is a 2012 Chevrolet Impala SS. The division we race in at Thompson Motor Speedway is the Super Late Model division under the NASCAR Whelen All American Series. Our engine is a Chevrolet NASCAR CRATE 355CI V8 ENGINE with a four-barrel carburetor that produces a modest 450 horsepower by Nats Racing Engines in Swansea Massachusetts. The fuel we use to power this engine is a 110 octane fuel sold by Sunoco Race Fuels. Since on a weekly basis we are running with speeds exceeding 130 MPH, there is quite a bit of safety equipment in the car such as restraints and fire suppression. After all, safety is our primary concern in this sport. |
