Our car is a 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The division we race in at Thompson Motor Speedway is the Pro Stock division under the NASCAR weekly racing series presented by Dodge. Our engine is a Chevrolet 355CI V8 with a two-barrel carburetor that produces a modest 450 horsepower. The fuel we use to power this engine is a 114 octane fuel sold by Sunoco Race Fuels. Since on a weekly basis we are running with speeds exceeding 130 MPH, there is quite a bit of safety equipment in the car such as restraints and fire suppression. After all, safety is our primary concern in this sport. |
